Rigor～在整个教育体系中都很重要。无论是社会、学校和家长都不应该低估孩子的能力，相信他们” can achieve higher-level thinker. 要做到这样，教育体系要制定更高要求的标准，提高老师入职门槛老师，需要抛去steretype，对学生都一视同仁有更高的要求家长，在invovle进入孩子的成长中，要更多的effort在learning上，而不仅仅是PTA或者啦啦对，例如自己努力成为更好的role model，为孩子读书，询问孩子学校里的学习情况，对孩子有更高期望，并且帮助他们有更好的mindset。

对美国读者的意义更大，但有的思索和总结值得学习。

推翻很多國人對美國教育是榜樣的看法，真正好的教育系統存于嚴格的體系，師資的力量和正確的理念中。這本書不是教你怎樣讓孩子變聰明，而是從本質上討論爲什麽同樣花費，有些國家的教育產出更多。我非常喜歡作者討論why而不是how. 很多人在批評中國的教育問題同時卻沒有看到這個教育體系的優點。上海同樣處於中國教育系統，在2009PISA全球成績最高很讓我驕傲。
