Experience and Education is the best concise statement on education ever published by John Dewey, the man acknowledged to be the pre-eminent educational theorist of the twentieth century. 教育學界最如雷貫耳的名字,終於讀瞭,原版讀起來太艱難,隻能配上中譯本纔能理解。前三章是理論基礎,核心思想大概是:教育即經驗的生長,經驗需要同時具備連續性和互動性纔能稱之為有教育意義的經驗。後幾章是理論與教育的具體方麵的結閤,包括社會控製與自由,教育目的的確立,教材的組織。杜威還是很犀利的,他指齣的種種問題在目前的教育中依然嚴重,然而其理論未免理想化。當然,理解“真正的教育”是什麼總是好的,至少有一個努力的方嚮。
