用governmentality從上而下分析教育製度，其實說不上哪裏不靠譜，很多規則可能因為熟悉而淡化。但用教育/名校學位和成功/happiness聯係起來並非東亞獨有。再則，這樣看下去學生們都是受體，完全受製度控製的（不然從做個人主義的也沒法寫東西瞭）。

印象最深的是 literary masculinity

It's quite fascinating to see a foreign anthropologist's perception toward Chinese education system. Good ethnography though.

條理清晰：圍繞educational desire,從文化政治經濟，從地方、國傢、東亞、世界，逐次展開。可讀完也沒覺得解釋瞭為什麼中國人，鄒平人這麼熱衷教育？描述現象是相對簡單的，找到現象背後的原因就太難瞭，可能就在於社會現象的原因是復雜的，多元相互作用的吧。
