這本書更大意義在於統稱出Historical Institutionalism這個名詞，在此之前只是bringing the state back in，在此之後就是歷史制度論了。里面有幾本作為示範的論文也不錯，當中以比較福利國家那章較為深刻。

原来读过其中的部分章节。不过，现在的学生再阅读这部作品。与其相较历史制度主义这个label, 此书所提供的VOC研究领域的历史案例和视角大概是更加值得参考的吧。
