評分所謂不純,禁忌和危險,在作者看來都是事物OUT OF ORDER,越過瞭正常社會邊界而造成的,並非其本身固有的任何本質。所以他們最有力的時候是ORDER, LINES最明確的時候。而秩序越明確的社會反而越壓抑,則禁忌越吸引人和有力。道格奶奶在最開始一張狂懟眾人,其火力實在太嚇人。
評分題解:本書意在藉由探討原始文化中對於不淨與禁忌的觀念,闡發作者對原始文化的構造與其運作的理解。文化的主要功能為建立秩序及維繫社群運作,對於何為淨、何為不淨的觀念,當然也與文化的此一麵嚮有關。人類基本的認識方式為替事物分類,並以此建立人與人間、人與自然的秩序。不淨的事物具有在分類架構中曖昧、模糊、逾越界線的特性,因此造成對秩序的威脅;然而亦可說,正是此種「危險」的可能,從反嚮鞏固瞭文化的結構本身。原始文化中的儀式或法術,其實是展演或反映瞭其社會構造,不能說是幼稚、無知的初級心靈的錶現。原始文化與現代文化的差異在於前者為整全的,後者則是分化的,以幼稚/成熟、野蠻/文明的視角來觀察兩者,是一種狹隘的視角,無能帶給我們對文化健全的瞭解。
