Cormac McCarthy, born Charles McCarthy (born July 20, 1933 in Providence, Rhode Island), is an American novelist who has written ten novels in the Southern Gothic, western, and post-apocalyptic genres.

Literary critic Harold Bloom named him as one of the four major American novelists of his time, along with Thomas Pynchon, Don DeLillo, and Philip Roth. He is frequently compared by modern reviewers to William Faulkner and sometimes to Herman Melville.

這書讀的很纍很纍我隻能說水平不夠看瞭30多頁實在要放棄瞭 the road當時看起來就不太順暢我跟cormac氣場不和 -=

在驚嘆這部絕世佳作的偉大同時，不得不感慨小說的閱讀難度。難，真的難，難得讓你肅然起敬。這不是我第一次讀Cormac McCarthy 的作品，但是在文字上The Road 比起Blood Meridian 完全不在一個層麵。小說隻有337頁，但那是怎麼樣的337頁隻有那些堅持到底的讀者纔能夠體會。這是一本需要你全情投入的書，看慣瞭通俗小說的讀者需要花很長時間纔能適應Mccarthy 的寫作風格，你希望自己是拉丁語專業的，地理專業的，曆史專業的，甚至是植物學專業的。可以套用這麼一句話，我讀過兩種類型的書，一種是Blood Meridian，剩下的是另一種。
