Cormac McCarthy, born Charles McCarthy (born July 20, 1933 in Providence, Rhode Island), is an American novelist who has written ten novels in the Southern Gothic, western, and post-apocalyptic genres.
Literary critic Harold Bloom named him as one of the four major American novelists of his time, along with Thomas Pynchon, Don DeLillo, and Philip Roth. He is frequently compared by modern reviewers to William Faulkner and sometimes to Herman Melville.

评分一场旷日持久的阅读。McCarthy怎么可以用寥寥数笔就把这乱世中人性、理性、神性的毁灭描写得淋漓尽致，其实就算他抛弃文字的形式感也对整体的震撼性毫无影响。

评分第一次看西部小说啊，血腥的不行。吸血鬼那边想到了大话西游的场景，电影有趣死了。rango动画的酒吧和这小说相比，实在是小巫见大巫。动不动就是血洗村庄啊，尸横遍野，还好很多都没读懂。
