尼可拉斯·D.剋裏斯多夫 & 雪莉·鄧恩 (Nicholas D. Kristof & Sheryl Wudunn) ，在擔任《紐約時報》駐北京特派員期間獲得普利策新聞奬（Pulitzer Prize)，他們也是第一對共同獲得該奬的夫婦。剋裏斯多夫先生又因《紐約時報》的特寫專欄而再度榮獲普利策奬。他也擔任過《紐約時報》香港、北京和東京的分社社長及副主編。鄧恩女士在《紐約時報》擔任商業版編輯，同時為東京與北京的駐外記者。她是第一位獲得普利策奬的亞裔美國人。

A book of advocacy! I understand how the authors feel driven by the global cause of feminist emancipation and equal rights, however, I am appalled by their patronizing tone. What's more, why on earth Americans are so much motivated by third-world life? I agree that great nations are supposed to do something that matches its reputation. Just curious

评分因為眾所周知的原因來讀原著，很多事情不是不存在，是不知道。而一旦知道瞭，就無法再任由自己聽之任之下去瞭。這本書把那些或是因為遙遠，或是被隱藏的那些你不知道的事實，擺在你麵前，讓你不得不去“知道”。
