评分free indirect syle. the nature of convention is the normalization of once innovative writing techniques, the aging of which gives the commonly known genre name to it. every writer's perception of what fiction is after is limited by their own historical periods, and that thus gives the general appearance of the genre they belong to.
评分Very insightful little book on western Literature. I admire Wood's attitude towards criticisms. He does not bother to "canonize" novels like Bloom does, instead, he explores another way of getting close to the texts and digging out the most subtle issues concerning the production of Literature. It surpasses Forster's Aspects of Novels in many ways.
