As Hurricane Valentina turns the family house upside down, old secrets come falling out, including the most deeply buried one of them all, from the War, the one that explains much about why Nadazhda and Vera are so different. Good, though not striking. The pain is there but it's too generational to be personal, and Nadia is just too much a cool observer. Nikolai reminds me of Jim Thorne, a borderline eccentric with an appetite for the wonderfully useless knowledges and an almost legendary past, quite likable, while Vera and Valentina poses as such charismatic tigeresses

评分可氣可笑，非常感人。文風贊，是我喜歡的小說風格。很多有趣的句子沒辦法翻譯成中文，太可惜，比如Valentina說的話：Shout bad things. Bad language speaking. I say shut up. He no shut up. I throw water. Is only water. Water no hurt（ 一個不會講英文的人是多麼可愛啊，但在中文裏就是正常的句子瞭）
