For years, Nadezhda and Vera, two Ukrainian sisters, raised in England by their refugee parents, have had as little as possible to do with each other - and they have their reasons. But now they find they'd better learn how to get along, because since their mother's death their aging father has been sliding into his second childhood, and an alarming new woman has just entered his life. Valentina, a bosomy young synthetic blonde from the Ukraine, seems to think their father is much richer than he is, and she is keen that he leave this world with as little money to his name as possible.If Nadazhda and Vera don't stop her, no one will. 瑪琳娜•柳薇卡（Marina Lewycka） 二戰結束時齣生於德國基爾（Kiel）的難民營，父母均為烏剋蘭人。她在英國長大成人。在謝菲爾德哈勒姆大學任教。已婚，女兒已長大成人，居住在謝菲爾德。

我最喜歡的角色其實是Vera 像valentina這樣的人最終的結局應該是很悲慘的 我覺得作者他爸一直都是瘋的
评分看瞭前10頁，so far so good. 趕我不惑的時候， 也就老父親的一般等價物寫點什麼。
评分不是農業科技書><。東歐前xx陣營人民的黑色幽默移民史，某些地方會有共鳴。另外，烏剋蘭國旗的顔色是天空和大地，啊樸實的解釋。
评分讓人啼笑皆非的傢庭鬧劇，看完卻笑不起來
评分可氣可笑，非常感人。文風贊，是我喜歡的小說風格。很多有趣的句子沒辦法翻譯成中文，太可惜，比如Valentina說的話：Shout bad things. Bad language speaking. I say shut up. He no shut up. I throw water. Is only water. Water no hurt（ 一個不會講英文的人是多麼可愛啊，但在中文裏就是正常的句子瞭）
