Against the backdrop of guilt brought by survival, they stage a normal life of small arguments and unhappy visits. This astonishing retelling of our century’s grisliest news is a story of survival, not only of Vladek but of the children who survive even the survivors. Maus studies the bloody pawprints of history and tracks its meaning for all of us.

著者簡介

Art Spiegelman is a contributing editor and artist for The New Yorker, and a co-founder / editor of Raw, the acclaimed magazine of avant-garde comics and graphics. His drawings and prints have been exhibited in museums and galleries here and abroad. Honors he has received for Maus include the Pulitzer Prize, a Guggenheim fellowship, and nominations for the National Book Critics Circle Award. He lives in New York City with his wife, Françoise Mouly, and their two children, Nadja and Dashiell.

Spiegelman畫得好有愛吶，大小朋友很喜歡！Auschwitz那段很震撼，無論你是鼠，青蛙，甚至是豬，在戰爭麵前顯得那麼脆弱。T_T Holocaust is cruel. World peace!

作品不僅僅局限於大屠殺本身，那段黑暗歲月造成的PTSD深深影響瞭經曆過的每一個人。戰爭的毒性不僅僅在於戰場，那種餘毒深入骨髓，難以根除。種族滅絕的政策下因為懦弱猶太人化身成瞭老鼠，麻木於納粹通知的波蘭人則成瞭豬，狡詐凶狠的貓則是納粹的象徵。人性在戰爭中是這般脆弱，一句句最平常的話語傳遞齣的卻是最心靈深處的絕望。結尾父輩的苦難沒有結束，後一代的苦難也悄然而至。
