著者简介

朱利安·巴恩斯(1946- )　英国当代最具影响力的作家之一。生于英格兰，毕业于牛津大学，曾参与《牛津英语词典》的编纂工作，做过多年的文学编辑和评论家。他著有十余部长篇小说，其中《福楼拜的鹦鹉》最为脍灸人口，奠定了他在英国文坛的地位。

他的创作以对历史、真实、真理和爱情的思考著称，这在《10 1/2章世界史》中表现得尤为明显。他尝试多种实验方法，打破传统的小说创作模式。他自己的小说也部部特色鲜明，风格绝不雷同。

他曾获毛姆奖、杰弗里·费伯纪念奖、E.M.福斯特奖，并三获布克奖提名(1984年《福楼拜的鹦鹉》、1998年《英格兰，英格兰》、2005年《亚瑟与乔治》)。

若是一本文学性高、又不是非常非常小众的书，豆瓣读书的评语都让我感到无可复加。。我只是庆幸这本书是由十个小故事加半段理论阐述组成，于是任由我的夜班巅来倒去也不用担心自己遗忘了过去读过的重要细节。若要我说一下对这本书的印象，一位豆友总结得太好：“精神病人思路广。”
