This lively and engaging book explains the things you have to know in order to read empirical papers in the social and health sciences, as well as the techniques you need to build statistical models of your own. 《统计模型》是一本出自大牛之手的书，翻译者也很牛，但是这并不是适合我的一本书。我需要的是一本真正如这本书的书名那样介绍常用统计模型前因后果和应用的书，而很显然，这本书的书名是有误导性的，它介绍的重点是回归模型中的一些假设以及可能带来的问题，对最大似然的介绍...

這本書的亮點不是數學推導，而是作者對於social science中統計學結論的濫用的吐槽。類似的還有Gelman的博客，都是值得一看的。其實很多錯誤不僅sociologist, economist，很多統計學科班的學生也是會犯的。
