Rainbow Rowell said this is canon, not a Harry Potter spinoff. To say it is would be an insult. This is so much better than Harry Potter. Also, I hate Drarry but love Snowbaz. Holy ship, ship, ship. They are my OTP.

在这本书里彩虹很难得没有从她最擅长的恋爱戏入手，而是花更多篇幅去刻画了一个融合了美式青春校园小说和英式冒险奇幻小说的全新魔法世界（虽然彩虹在后记里说她已经很努力去营造这个故事的英国感，但吸血鬼这个设定实在是太“美国”了哈哈）。也许也是因为这个原因所以两个主角Baz和Simon的感情线对比她以往的其它作品来说篇幅就相对少了很多，但这并不影响这个作品的完成度，主角的感情戏依然是全文最大的亮点之一。这篇的多角度叙事手法和E&P的双视角叙事手法有些相似，但是更为成熟，从一开始的悬念设置到最后一点一点揭露真相，这种叙事手法非常成功地驾驭了整个故事的节奏，总体来说是一次非常成功的风格转型。
