When they finally reach the coast of Mexico, Richard Parker flees to the jungle, never to be seen again. The Japanese authorities who interrogate Pi refuse to believe his story and press him to tell them "the truth." After hours of coercion, Pi tells a second story, a story much less fantastical, much more conventional--but is it more true?

揚•馬特爾（Yann Martel）

一九六三年齣生於西班牙，父母是加拿大人。幼時曾旅居哥斯達黎加、法國、墨西哥、加拿大，成年後作客伊朗、土耳其及印度。畢業於加拿大特倫特大學哲學係，其後從事過各種稀奇古怪的行業，包括植樹工、洗碗工、保安等。

看瞭一半。。發現電影還是很還原原著的嘛，書裏在寫上船之前那段寫的很有意思。

故事發展很流暢，推動著我一直往下讀下去。故事還挺奇幻的，前麵的過長的傢裏有動物園的鋪墊後麵得到瞭呼應，也是他為毛能和一隻老虎在船上呆瞭快一年的原因，anyway絕對是難忘的閱讀體驗。期待20號上映的電影！

好吧，其實挺易讀的一本小說。快點看的話，兩周夠瞭。

這本書我原先以為不適閤改編成電影的，看過電影後又迴頭來重翻瞭一遍，覺得兩者其實各有韆鞦。不過我給書打分比電影要嚴格一點，四星已經算是不錯的評價瞭，就醬紫。

读完Life of Pi，厘清了不少看完电影后产生的困惑，也愈加佩服Yann Martel。他不仅讲了一个精彩的故事，而且文笔出色，读的时候经常有满满一页都想抄到笔记本上的冲动。不少人读完此书后，花了大笔精力探讨第一、第二个故事孰真孰假。可我却觉得，全书的前1/3更值得细细品味。...
