Ralph Franklin, the foremost scholar of Dickinson's manuscripts, has prepared an authoritative one-volume edition of all extant poems by Emily Dickinson - 1,789 poems in all, the largest number ever assembled. This reading edition derives from his three-volume work, The Poems of Emily Dickinson: Variorum Edition (1998), which contains approximately 2,500 sources for the poems. In this one-volume edition, Franklin offers a single reading of each poem - usually the latest version of the entire poem - rendered with Dickinson's spelling, punctuation and capitalisation intact. 评分整个周末都窝在屋子里读艾米丽的诗，不知为什么，脑子里总会浮现出福克纳的一个短篇。对死亡的描摹尤其怪诞而深刻，我也是第一次读诗读出了那种音韵与节奏的舒畅和跳跃，再配合冬季阴沉的天气，内心时刻充满着喜乐。这或许也是人生的有限性所带来的意外的惊喜吧。另，这个版本是对艾米丽诗作形式上的忠实呈现，值得推荐。
