作者简介
Amartya Sen is the Master of Trinity College, Cambridge, and the winner of the 1998 Nobel Prize in Economic Science. He has been President of the Indian Economic Association, the American Economic Association, the International Economic Association and the Econometric Society. He has taught at Calcutta, Delhi, Oxford, Cambridge, the London School of Economics, and Harvard.

森博士论述自由的经典书目，可是到目前为止那么多国家（特别是撒哈拉以南国家）的发展似乎都在证明以‘发展途径的自由’为中心的发展并没有带来自由，那么在缺乏‘两个基本点’前提下的这个中心价值何在？
评分很好的一本书，读完之后对于政治学、经济学、公共政策、还有政治哲学，都有很大的帮助！

评分one of the assigned books from the class. i'm not convinced at all... but there may will be an equivocal way of answer or something i dont get like always
评分2013-9-8在哈佛书店COOP的Faculty 书架上读到这本书，其中一个章节谈到英国的人均寿命在两次世界大战之间，意外地得到飞速提升，两次战争的十年中人均预期寿命提升了大约7岁。这真是一个有意思的现象。解放后，中国人的人均寿命也得到飞速提升，需要寻找类似的数据和研究。
