Norman Lewis (born December 30, 1912 in Brooklyn, New York – died September 8, 2006 in Whittier, California) was an author, grammarian, lexicographer, and etymologist. Lewis was a leading authority on English-language skills, whose best-selling 30 Days to a More Powerful Vocabulary published by Pocket Books in 1971 promised to teach readers "how to make words your slaves" in fifteen minutes a day.

评分前幾年看過這本書，個人覺得是英語詞匯類最好的書沒有之一，對詞根詞源和英語構詞法的解釋清晰易懂。找齣來來推薦給彆人的時候順便馬剋一下
评分1.作者簡介錯瞭，不是這位同名的作傢，提交瞭但是豆瓣沒有采用，如果有人看到可以點更新描述進去，選2006年去世的那位，幫忙加權修正一下。2.讀單詞書也能讀到傢鄉哈哈，裏麵的places that made our language，satin詞源是泉州。3. Not the urge to learn "words" - words are only symbols of ideas. But the urge to learn facts, theories, concepts, informations, knowledge, understanding. 4.單詞難度比較低，也是很多年以前的書瞭，現在很多教學方法都較之進步瞭。
评分花瞭很長時間慢慢的“讀”，很同意作者Norman Lewis說的"...no educative process is ever the end; it is always the beginning of more education, more learning, more living." 這本書要一直讀下去。
