评分小時候看過同名小說改編的電影，情節不記得了，就知道挺嚇人的。後來知道是史蒂文森寫的故事，就勉為其難看了這個英文簡易版。雖然已經不覺得有什麽可怕，但還是不喜歡故事里的那種陰鬱氣氛。這個故事也許是生物科幻類讀物的鼻祖吧。

和弗兰肯斯坦异曲同工：好奇的科学天才亲手设计出自己的噩梦。大概所有人内心都有Dr Jekyll和Mr Hyde的博弈和制衡。Dr Lanyon在卡文迪许（！）广场得知真相后惊吓而死，我仿佛看到大群笑而不语。I have been made to learn that the doom and burthen of our life is bound for ever on man's shoulders, and when the attempt is made to cast it off, it but returns upon us with more unfamiliar and more awful pressure. 欲望越是压抑会越强，一旦释放同样会更强甚至反噬理性；制欲吧。
评分Hyde是纯粹的恶，Jekyll却不是纯粹的善。他是矛盾的混合体，既想保有现有的财富和名望，又渴望放纵自我而不被惩罚，最终只能自食恶果。他的忏悔来得太迟，悲剧从喝下药水的那一刻就已经酿成。善与恶的二元性是亘古不变的话题，谁也没法将自己的善恶真正剥离，承认有恶念并能抑制它，才能称为“人”。
