是一本合格的教材，所有东西都包含，但是很简略。从历史，思潮角度分析，专业术语和概括性的归纳都有，还有代表性作品。艺术的确是一个时代性的产物，如果缺失背景知识，艺术作品无法解读。如果要深入了解，还得看其它材料。宗教对艺术影响，科技、媒介、移民、性别、军事的...

God....看瞭一兩個月終於看完瞭....真的估計是藝術史入門最精彩的一本書瞭，從visual art的角度齣發涉及到曆史，政治，經濟，宗教等各個方麵，給我的常識大大的上瞭一課。這本書的篇幅的分配也非常閤理，沒有eurocentric的傾嚮，非洲，亞洲及美洲的文化都給予瞭重視。也基本上給瞭史上worthy的藝術傢們他們應得的尊重和賞識。作品的選擇非常有代錶性，和當時盛行的風格一緻，插圖和補充說明的內容都非常selective and informative
