西爾維婭·娜薩，曾任《財富》雜誌和《美國新聞與世界報道》記者，現任《紐約時報》經濟記者，本書是她的處女作。1991-1999年任《紐約時報》經濟記者，1999-2000年為普林斯頓大學訪問學者，2000年為劍橋大學金斯學院和丘吉爾學院訪問研究員，2001年起任哥倫比業大學新聞學院商務新聞奈特教授。
