西爾維婭·娜薩，曾任《財富》雜誌和《美國新聞與世界報道》記者，現任《紐約時報》經濟記者，本書是她的處女作。1991-1999年任《紐約時報》經濟記者，1999-2000年為普林斯頓大學訪問學者，2000年為劍橋大學金斯學院和丘吉爾學院訪問研究員，2001年起任哥倫比業大學新聞學院商務新聞奈特教授。

納什的人生是一個悲劇，他奇跡般的蘇醒也並沒有改變這一事實。他在獲得諾奬之後說：“從非理性恢復理性，迴歸正常的生活自然是一件好事...但是也許並沒有那麼好。比方說有這樣一個藝術傢，他是理性的，但是他再也無法畫畫。他能正常與人交往，但是這真的是好事嗎？這真的是救贖嗎？我覺得隻要有一天我無法做齣一番成績，我就沒有真正康復。” 可惜的是，他至死也許都沒有真正康復。
