评分挺不錯的私法史書籍，在發展的洪流中，法律如何發展。在我們不斷仰望民法典的今天，應該看看法律如何變遷。
评分比較傳統的馬剋思主義史學的力作。我覺得所有民法甚至法學專業的人都應該讀他，中文翻譯非常一般，沒校對齣的錯誤也不少，雖沒差到無法讀的地步。霍爺有力的證明瞭美國法是如何被重塑以服務與新興的資本主義，法官通過對私法重塑將成本分配給瞭社會上沉默的弱勢，對動瞭新型資本主義的發展。
