我希望看到像本书这种高质量的美国的专业史，专题史，各个领域的。现在美国通史多，滥，没有意义。

评分比较传统的马克思主义史学的力作。我觉得所有民法甚至法学专业的人都应该读他，中文翻译非常一般，没校对出的错误也不少，虽没差到无法读的地步。霍爷有力的证明了美国法是如何被重塑以服务与新兴的资本主义，法官通过对私法重塑将成本分配给了社会上沉默的弱势，对动了新型资本主义的发展。
