讀到最後淚流滿麵。a writer of uncanny power，似乎有洞穿人內心的雙眼和文筆。愛裏所有的欲望、恐懼、懷疑、冷漠、傷害和憐憫全都躍然紙上。

Life shatters,yet love endures.

很學術派的小說，描述瞭De Clerambault syndrome的病例。很喜歡McEwan的心理描寫，充滿瞭細節的真實。

沒有細讀，但是覺得McEwan的書裏都有一種agony，Atonement裏麵是Briony的innocence/guity，這種衝突甚至讓我沒法讀完那本書。這本書裏麵是Joe的(ir)rationality. 這種衝突在書裏貫穿的很好，從profession到relationship，到主人公的各種行為。作為學院派，作者的幾個主題，理性，科學，真相，視角之類的，都看得齣受到西方主流學院思想影響（don't know if i'm doing justice to the author, though..）.從某種角度講，寫理論和寫小說其實是可以殊途同歸的一件事。個人很喜歡這本書的情節主題以及明顯的學院派影響，四星是因為Atonement是五星。這本書沒有Atonment殘忍，也不如它震撼。

Ian文筆真的太好瞭，前半本6顆星，無論是設定還是語言。但是後半部分弱瞭，期待更多
