蘇格拉底是西方社會文化之源…而柏拉圖的魔咒掩蓋瞭他的離經叛道。無比清楚地勾勒瞭先蘇哲學傢的理念以及柏拉圖如何塑造其政治理想國，因而將其從人文主義的陣營裏驅逐齣去（作為蘇格拉底的逆子、開放社會的敵人）。扣下一星是因為最後辯述社會改造時一收分析的嚴謹，大大咧咧以保守的姿態批判起馬剋思和烏托邦來。留給續集。

作者把重點都集中在瞭柏拉圖、黑格爾和馬剋思三人身上，對黑格爾的評價尤其尖刻。如果沒有黑格爾，古希臘哲學遺産中很有害的那部分不會像今天流傳那麼廣，而黑格爾本身這種禦用文人的角色，也對後世起瞭很惡劣的影響。。。

卡爾·波普爾《開放社會及其敵人》的第一部《柏拉圖之咒》，讓我重新認識瞭柏拉圖，這個原本在我腦中隻以“哲學傢”之名存在的人，在造神的年代，更需要有人來祛魅，波普爾做的就是這樣的事情。他以犀利的方式逐一批駁柏拉圖的理論，推翻瞭後者精心構造起的哲人王（也就是柏拉圖自己）應該統治的世界。

Popper（波普或波普尔）最值得敬佩的地方在于他的批判精神和对理性的执着。开放社会的概念正是波普哲学在政治上的合理推论，了解所谓“批判理性主义”必读。这种哲学态度的价值在于对极权主义有超强的抵抗力，然而却也容易陷入不可知论的泥沼。 Anyway,理性万岁！

全书主要分为三部分，很详细的针对柏拉图主义，黑格尔主义与马克思主义进行批判（当然也顺便提到赫拉克利特和苏格拉底等对历史主义思潮有关的思想家）… 开篇致力于批判柏拉图主义。柏拉图的“理想国”是一种波普尔称之为“封闭社会”辩护，而这又是一切极权主义的形式基础。...
