卡尔·波普尔《开放社会及其敌人》的第一部《柏拉图之咒》，让我重新认识了柏拉图，这个原本在我脑中只以“哲学家”之名存在的人，在造神的年代，更需要有人来祛魅，波普尔做的就是这样的事情。他以犀利的方式逐一批驳柏拉图的理论，推翻了后者精心构造起的哲人王（也就是柏拉图自己）应该统治的世界。

真正有趣的不是波普尔把柏拉图批成一个极权主义者，而是他是带着同情苏格拉底自由人道开放精神的立场反过来批判柏拉图的保守反动的。波普尔对柏拉图说：“柏拉图，背叛苏格拉底的教诲，你的良心不会痛吗？” 柏拉图一脸懵逼：“我说了什么吗？”
