评分此书难找，直到半个多月前才偶尔找到了Kindle版。篇幅大概200多页，英文易懂程度中等。书中开头就说：Shin出生于14号劳改营，并且是这个劳改营有史以来第1个也是唯一一个成功出逃的人。关于朝鲜的劳改营，在为数不多的几本书中有所描述，也有极少数的人从中出逃。这么一个出生长大在劳改营的角色，却是第一次看到，所以其亲身经历相对其他角度的描写肯定更让人触动。让人感触最深的是：在集中营高压政策下，人与人之间已完全没了基本的感情、爱与信任，每个人为了生存，都可能成为告密者以获得自保；Shin就是这样一个人，当得知母亲与哥哥计划逃走的时候，第一时间去告发了他们，让人更悲怆的是：他与父亲目睹母亲与哥哥被枪毙的时候，心里依然对他们愤恨，因为自己被他们拖累。想必与纳粹集中营不同的是：朝鲜集中营更能摧毁灵魂。
