充斥其中misogyny不能否定这是部有技巧的好小说。读者们目眩神迷注视着怪异的"月亮"主角肆意人生，自然的忽略了几个面目被扭曲的"六便士"女人以及毛姆可鄙可怜的自我揭露。简单来说，同性恋在某些国家请别结婚，不然会变态的。
评分从一个平淡的开头到欲罢不能，毛姆的功力真心佩服。
评分Strickland如果不是靠Blanche的护理早就病死了，不是靠Ata养也不会在最后几年过得那么惬意继而达成艺术理想了。很震撼于这种为艺术献身和拉他人牺牲的人性。
