忘了是第几本英文原著了,但是觉得还是中文版的好
评分从一个平淡的开头到欲罢不能,毛姆的功力真心佩服。
评分Artists are rarely understood. But maybe that’s why they are often admired.
评分读过一本毛姆的短篇小说集,一个非常擅长说故事的作家。但是这本长篇前半部分还是读的非常艰难(一半因为几百年没读英文书了,另一边因为都是在飞行时间看的,非常容易睡着)。但是Strickland从法国到大溪地之后确实不忍心放下来,借伍尔芙说的,确实像在自己平庸的生活中迎面撞上了一座巨大的冰山。毛姆的确聪明、幽默又克制,赞美毛姆。
