湊閤 這本關鍵詞的長處在於每個詞條都有詞源注解有時候還有稍微詳細一些的詞義流變 值得注意的是詞義流變的例子跟OED簡直是如齣一轍喜歡用英國曆史上的著名作傢學者的文本 這個方法很有意思地和文化研究的主題相扣 但是選詞非常有時代局限性 也從側麵反映瞭文化研究的弱點即一本文化研究的關鍵詞似乎確實需要經常更新呢 但總的來說williams很好地抓住瞭大多數詞詞義的豐富性 值得參考的一本書

推薦閱讀，該書對西方社會和文化中許多關鍵概念進行瞭非常好的梳理

比記憶裏讀起來厲害很多。和德國幾本概念史詞典相比，這書經常被人說在方法和完成度上都有缺憾，但其實也並沒有那麼入門或基礎。他本人下筆論斷謹慎，語言精密，很多地方能感覺到精細地思考過，其實他本人的感覺本身就是這本書參考價值裏最重的一部分吧。缺憾大概是想要史但還不夠“史”，以及終究是英國，英國。
