著者簡介

凱特·福剋斯(Kate Fox)，社會人類學傢，牛津大學社會問題研究中心聯執主任，英國文化研究學會研究員。在英格蘭、美國、愛爾蘭、法國等地輾轉完成敦育後，赴劍橋大學攻讀人類學和哲學。她的工作主要是觀察和評估全球社會文化的趨勢，特彆是針對人類行為的諸多方麵，例如飲酒、調情、酒吧行為、暴力、賽馬、手機聊天、健康憂慮、嗅覺心理等，一些成果頗受關注和好評。她的父親羅賓福剋斯(RobinFox)也是一位人類學傢。

作者是牛津人類學背景，半專業半戲謔的寫瞭這本書。英國人的階級意識仍舊明顯，但又想維持錶麵的平等正義，難免被人指責僞善，諷刺功底也是一流。所以不少情況下，上層和工薪可以高度一緻的低俗，反倒中産階級的逼格可以如此絢麗多彩。
