the iliad is about rage- real, dangerous, violent and destructive rage. it is about pride and about loss. Homer's poem makes it clear from the first page that war and tragedy are inseparable, and that glory and honor are the motivation inspired heros. (Book 1, 6, 9, 16, 18, 22, 24)

看電影Troy就最欣賞Hector，讀瞭書更加如此。我一直認為奧林匹斯眾神比現今宗教裡的神/上帝更加真實。他們不完美，他們有偏好。人的生活坎坎坷坷是因為上天的神靈不是全知、全愛、全能的。

奧林匹剋的競技原來是葬禮的一部分； 對戰爭的描述，帶著血腥的詩意； 強如宙斯都都不能改變命運，因為他忌憚眾神的不滿，進而影響到他的權力； 士兵女人命如草芥； 英雄視榮譽勝過生命；

五星。這個版本雖然是簡潔，但是很流暢；用詞簡單，卻很有生動；節奏感也很強，讀起來很吸引人。強烈推薦。
