电影的美永远无法和文字的美相提并论。文字要是犹抱琵琶半遮面的美女，电影就是被看腻了的花瓶。同一个事件，文字的高度和趣味性，电影需要矫情地放大或再三揣摩才可能达到。Life of Pi 用了茶花女的格式来写，由作者第一人称引出，真实感人。动物园部分就有很多有趣的观点和故事。后面的动作描写和名著老人与海，瓦尔登湖或者鲁宾逊漂流记中所使用的白描一样，简洁又精彩。英文水平达不到，很多时候理解不顺，但此书实为佳作。
