从来没有这样让人看了不想放下的原版书。。。

很有意思的小说。很细腻的心里描写，有关回忆，有关感情。结尾抖了个大包袱。

不长却很磨人。巴恩斯也许很是有讲些什么的野心，却给了这样一个无力而刻意的故事。甚至连他的妙语在这本书中都显得那么无所适从。

虽然有人说巴恩斯靠这本拿了布克奖实在有点安慰奖的成分，但这真的是杰作啊！不过，说实话，核心剧情有点让我措手不及，或者说难以接受……书中有大量的反思性段落，不但关乎自我、人生、历史，其实也是作者对文学创作的反思，更因而带有一点元小说的意味。多少人活在自欺、规避、自我想象之中呢？这真是一场沉重的自我审判。另，郭国良的译本有很多地方处理得很灵活巧妙，值得学习，虽然也存在某些小错误。
