當我禁不住放聲讀齣Austerlitz的敘述，仿佛是置身於“London”或“Robinson in space”。關於London或Mid Wales的部分喚起我的迴憶，而Paris陌生的地名讓我憂傷。一些細節竟讓我想起童年早已忘卻的一些情節。

塞巴尔德的独特之处在火车站的拱顶照片出现时便显现出来。虚构的人物和真实的景象，用以穿插一片空白，接着，一种新的生命活动藉由真实的记录出现了，正如奥斯特利茨说，“这些照片本身就有记忆”。 记忆？对于奥斯特利茨来说，记忆是一个游戏，有两条支线，一条源于传教士埃米...
