Betty Draper和Mrs Dallowy的psychoanalyst沒能解答的問題，Friedan解答瞭。本書寫就的時間很早，Friedan也僅將她的敘事落腳在美國女性；但是今天讀來仍是意義非凡，所反映的睏境也遠非僅僅是那個時代的美國女性獨有。書中不少觀點即使用於評價現在的中國社會也是妥帖的。

评分曾經有個女人就讀瞭一本此書中譯版就自以為神聖的母知，將所謂的女權主義自我驕傲又狹隘地重新詮釋瞭一遍；我自己也沒好到哪裏去。故幻滅。從此對feminism沒有熱切的信仰。僅工具而已。
