看到结尾之前，略有文艺青年玛丽苏即视感。不过残酷的结束增强了本书的现实感，社会阶级的差别并不会因为同时爱知识美和自由就消失。然而作者是很温柔的，并没有揭穿社会阶级可能冲突的真相，而是安排那个被优雅的上流社会赏识的门房遭遇了车祸。因为自己有一个”优雅的刺猬“般的朋友，所以无论如何也是五星了。
评分电影大致还是尊重原著，只不过为了增加画面动态，把小女孩Paloma的日记变成了摄像机。小说里不分年纪的友谊、跨越阶级和贫富的恋情、还有理想主义与现实主义的对峙，都有打动人的力量。注重自我感受的人很容易代入两个女主角的情绪，她们或许看上去我行我素甚至有些冷冰冰，但内心深处都渴望被爱被理解，因为文艺青年（少年、中老年）也不过是人。但结局的仓促和残暴我还是无法接受，大概因为作者无法为自己的命题提出一个真正的解决方案吧。
