评分2016年以来我们一直在告诉自己，不要强调民主的理想，那太幼稚；因为我们强调得太多而不给别的意见妥协所以造就了右翼的崛起和川普的当选。但是现在这个由美国独立精神驱动的人，做出了这么重要的工作。他是一个非常现实的理想主义者。我们这一代人共有这个经历：web1.0带来的平等、民主理想的希望，很快被大企业和政府abuse。看到最近几年压抑的理想主义在这本书里被毫不避讳又深思熟虑地说出来，让我感觉读这本书是一种放纵。我们的理想并没有死，也不是不现实。要靠我们让理想植根于现实，从重新定义数据的意义开始……
评分个人传记再多大程度上是有偏的，这一点在此可以忽略不计。作为一个历史事件的创造者和记录人，斯诺登在书里描述了几乎是每个决定背后的思考过程和理由，没有什么惊天大料，这本书的目的也不是为了爆料。找到自己相信的原则并坚持贯彻和依此行事，非常非常了不起。
