艾薩剋·阿西莫夫，當代美國最著名的科幻大師、世界頂尖級科幻小說作傢、，他也是位文學評論傢，美國科幻小說黃金時代的代錶人物之一。他一生高産，著述頗豐，一生著述近500本，其中有100多部科幻小說，早已遠遠超過瞭“著作等身”的地步。是本世紀最頂尖的科幻小說傢之一。曾獲代錶科幻界最高榮譽的雨果奬和星雲終身成就「大師奬」。以他的名字為號召的「阿西莫夫科幻雜誌」，是美國當今數一數二的科幻文學重鎮。他是一位生於俄羅斯的美籍猶太人。作品極其豐富，代錶作有《我，機器人》(I,Robot) 、《基地》係列、《鋼窟》(The Caves of Steel) 係列、《赤裸太陽》(The Naked Sun) 等。他他於1941年發錶的作品《Runaround》中第一次明確提齣瞭著名的“阿西莫夫機器人三定律”。以其名字命名的《阿西莫夫科幻小說》雜誌，至今仍然是美國當今數一數二的科幻文學暢銷雜誌。
