生于美国阿拉巴马州， 曾被授予普利策小说奖及其他众多文学奖项。她与杜鲁门•卡坡蒂是幼年的邻居和一生的朋友。《杀死一只知更鸟》据说是以卡坡蒂为原型之一创作的，现已成为公认的美国文学经典。此后，她一直隐居在家乡亚拉巴马的小镇上 ，拒绝各种采访，过着平静的生活。有人问她为什么不在盛名之下接着写作，她回答：“有过这样一次，还有什么可写的？”

有时候就是因为太经典，我就有些许怕读，读了Paul theraux的Deep south以后，想着读下知更鸟做个对比，终于读完了，心里有点五味杂陈，黑白有时候总是不那么分明，但好在总有些良知在.
评分太温暖治愈感动了…… Atticus好papa…然而虽然性格相差甚远，每次看到Atticus眼前都会浮现电影《飘》的Ashly不知为毛。。。非常好奇papa的过去……对作者全篇通过一个5~8岁小女孩的眼光看世界却能在各种人物之间切换自如并“随口”说出各种做人道理和洞察人情世故膜拜得五体投地OTZ

评分哈珀·李一生中唯一一本长篇小说…主线是黑人Tom Rombinson的强奸案…从Atticus对原告和她父亲的审问看来…Rombinson的无辜显而易见…然后那个年代的种族歧视和偏见还是判了他有罪…在被关监狱痛失希望后~他试图翻围墙逃跑(我认为应该就是自杀吧)…死在警卫的乱枪下… 案子审判之前…作者对那个小镇和小镇上的人都做了很深的铺垫…似乎每件事都毫无关联…然后到最后…层层外衣剥开…原来一切都是丝丝相扣的… 抛开案子不说…书中还是有很多很多暖心的地方…尤其是Atticus, 虽然他似乎总是在忙着工作但字里行间却溢满了他对孩子们的爱和关怀！他云淡风轻地引导着孩子应该怎样做人，怎样做事… Plus, 真的很喜欢scout整天简单粗暴地跟男孩子打架的性格…ヾﾉ≧∀≦)o
