Smart and interesting .she successfully created a poetic sentiment with broken English

最開始聽說這本書的語言隨著主人公的英語水平從bad English逐漸變成good English，覺得太有意思非讀不可，尤其是作為英語學習者、作為相似年紀的中國女性，一定會有可以relate的地方。讀完之後卻感覺，語言的變化這個一開始最吸引我的點並沒有給我很多樂趣，內容也……索然無味。故事發生的時代到現在差不多有二十年，大概隔在我們之間的這二十年讓許許多多的東西難以溝通無法共鳴。在快到結尾的有一節（可能是倒數第二節，也是我整本書最喜歡的地方），她說母親對她無休止的控製就像那啥一樣，這一點倒是從來沒變過。

作為小說無趣瞭點，更像工具書，推薦跟外國人談朋友的姑涼~

I love it, but I do not like the ending, it's sad.

故事简单，语言也简单，但是却不乏精彩深刻之笔，比如题目这句“our Chinese live in the expectation”——中国人不容易满足，社会也不容许轻易知足。
