著者簡介

郭小櫓，1973年生於浙江溫嶺石塘鎮漁村，18歲就讀北京電影學院，獲學士及碩士學位，寫劇本，做電影導演，發錶小說和影評，齣版有文集《電影地圖》、《電影理論筆記》，小說《芬芳的37°2》、《我心中的石頭鎮》和電影劇本《我媽媽的男朋友是誰》等。2002年起旅居英國，至今拍瞭六部長短片，包括紀錄北京申奧期間的《嵌入肉體的城市》，獲法國巴黎“國際人權影展”大奬、描寫城鄉及歸鄉情結的《今天的魚怎麼樣？》，獲2007年法國 Créteil“國際女性影展”評審團大奬，以及藉由雙親的東西行旅透視文化衝突的新片《西行之路》等。

Within imperfect language one can find many perfect truth of the human condition.

Beneath the protagonist's failure to communicate with her foreign lover in perfect English lies her misunderstanding of a culture as well as human nature so different from her own. Fragmental, sentimental and sort of anarchical, Xiaolu Guo's work is a word play in the disguise of the lexicon novel that emphasizes self-learning and self-discovery.

擺蕩於“母語”懷舊（親子隱喻所假設的自然性與直接性，乃至與“母語”同構的文化本質論）以及對這種懷舊的自反（語言的夾縫之間，統貫自我的不可能性），令人聯想到周蕾所說的the xenophonic speaker。

受推荐看了该书，能受到好评让人很是疑惑。整本书为全英文，对于前半部以支离破碎的英文所表达内容和情绪,以及为何会产生那些broken english，恐怕只有中国人或者有中国式思维的人才能引起共鸣吧。但是呢，这本书所表达的一些意识形态以及对中西方差异的描述，与其说夸张矫情...
