這是一部慢慢敘述的小說。主人公的四個人生同時進行。四個人生裏，有的人同時齣現，他始終是獨身子，始終和同一個女生有著戀愛。從嬰幼兒到兒童，到青年，到成人，似乎一個很小的事情就會引起完全不同的人生。這次“閱讀”可真是感到瞭語言的衝擊力。非常感謝作者36個小時的閱讀，否則不能想象自己閱讀這本長達880頁的書。最愛成長小說，在被人的故事裏看到自己的影子，有的時候隻是一個片斷。

巨長沒有必要的長不過閱讀難度很低。一個戰後嬰兒在四個平行空間的前二十年的生活大量的心理細節和生活細節的描述有種看連續劇的感覺。順便開瞭書單和影單可當作5 60年代的紐約左翼文化人的豆瓣清單使用或者作者本人的自傳。本書最齣彩的地方我覺得是題目。
