One of the most influential literary critics in the English-speaking world, he is the author of more than 40 books on literary theory, postmodernism, politics, ideology, and religion, among them his best-selling Literary Theory: An Introduction. He lives in Northern Ireland, UK.

会看门道才算会读文学，文本细读的功夫还得慢慢练啊才行啊。
评分伊格尔顿太有意思了，毒舌而风趣。本书很适合文学入门，举的例子都很大众，感觉好于《Aspects of Novel》。Opening部分意料之中地提了Austen，意料之外地没提《双城记》和《局外人》。Value部分很《二十世纪西方文学理论》。
评分Completely mind blowing, 不敢想象自己之前在没读过这本书的时候，是带着怎样一个空荡荡的脑子去上文学课的
评分比读诗和文论写得要散很多，毕竟把文学作为整体来谈，篇幅有限难以对知识点逐个讨论。不过老大爷笔锋还在，分析起作品来思路清晰，不乏很好的范例。
