"'night, Mother "had its world premiere at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in December 1982. It opened on Broadway in March 1983, directed by Tom Moore and starring Anne Pitoniak and Kathy Bates; a film, starring Anne Bancroft and Sissy Spacek, was released in 1986.

隻有我和學妹覺得自殺是個人選擇，老師一直想說服我們說人不是孤立的存在，要考慮身邊的人。隻是我覺得一個人若已決定去死，那繼續活下去也未見得對身邊人會更好。

A daughter tells her mother her plan to commit suicide later that evening, and the audience is led to watch through how her mother would react and how the daughter would explain herself. A great story about a woman trying to take control of her life through shooting herself, as choose death marks her out and gives her an independent identity.
