'"night, Mother" is a taut and fluid drama that addresses different emotions and special relations. By one of America's most talented playwrights, this play won the Dramatists Guild's prestigious Hull-Warriner Award, four Tony nominations, the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, and the Pulitzer Prize in 1983. "'night, Mother "had its world premiere at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in December 1982. It opened on Broadway in March 1983, directed by Tom Moore and starring Anne Pitoniak and Kathy Bates; a film, starring Anne Bancroft and Sissy Spacek, was released in 1986.

It is filled with emotional intensity.
评分分兩天把這個劇本讀完，第一天期盼著伴隨著真相的展開，也許結局會逆轉。第二天讀的時候全程提著一口氣，母親依然是那個自戀的母親，Jessie到死都在尋求對自我生命的主導，想起瞭winnicott提齣的true self and false self, Jessie一輩子都活在false self之中，反哺照顧母親的各種需求，找不到真正的自我。Jessie的自我瞭結是對真我的追尋，或者又是對母親的恨，對母親的終極懲罰？從母親的角度，這個自殺的行為軌跡是可以被乾預的嗎？也許可以，也許不能
评分2017年12月購入，2018年1月到貨，2018年5月14日兩個小時讀完。感興趣的段落已不再心心念念，這是“時間的力量”。seizure是疾病發作，fit也是疾病發作，都是可數名詞。solid形容一整段時間，書中提到瞭a solid year。manicure是指甲護理。
评分讀這個戲劇我覺得這他媽不就是我的生活嗎。我首先是一個人，之後纔是一個身體上的女人，再之後纔是一個女兒，每個人都是獨立的個體，我的生命屬於我自己。我嘗試過自殺是因為我的生活太痛苦瞭，我無法定義我自己，我再怎麼努力無法改變這垃圾世界的一絲一毫，我抽煙也是為瞭能夠死得快，我好希望我馬上就死掉，然後所有人都忘瞭我，好像我從沒來過。
评分看完這齣戲,再看這個劇本,依然覺得震驚!
