哈代的許多作品讀瞭一些之後就會發現作者自身特色的文風瞭。這本小說還是很喜歡,遺憾沒能看完。

淑的信仰一直是缺失的,就像個局外人一樣,一切愛情、友情、信仰對她來說都是無所謂的、善變的、次要的。思想情感也從來不受她的控製,所以對愛情仿佛揮之即來、呼之即去,把裘德和Phillotson玩弄於鼓掌之間,可是淑給很多讀者卻製造瞭一種無辜的印象。 非常討厭哈代筆下的女性。從《遠離塵囂》的Bathsheba,到淑,再到《還鄉》裏的尤斯塔西婭。
