Amazon.com Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor E. Frankl is among the most influential works of psychiatric literature since Freud. The book begins with a lengthy， austere， and deeply moving personal essay about Frankl's imprisonment in Auschwitz and other concentration camps for five years， and his struggle during this time to find reasons to live. The second part of the book， called "Logotherapy in a Nutshell，" describes the psychotherapeutic method that Frankl pioneered as a result of his experiences in the concentration camps. Freud believed that sexual instincts and urges were the driving force of humanity's life; Frankl， by contrast， believes that man's deepest desire is to search for meaning and purpose. Frankl's logotherapy， therefore， is much more compatible with Western religions than Freudian psychotherapy. This is a fascinating， sophisticated， and very human book. At times， Frankl's personal and professional discourses merge into a style of tremendous power. "Our generation is realistic， for we have come to know man as he really is，" Frankl writes. 维克多•E.弗兰克尔（Frank.V.E.,1905-1997），医学博士，维也纳医科大学神经与精神病学教授，担任维也纳神经综合医学院的首席专家长达25年，他创立了“意义疗法”及“存在主义分析”，被称之为继弗伊德的心理分析、阿德勒的个体心理学之后的维也纳第三心理治辽学派。他拥有哈佛大学、斯坦福大学，达拉斯大学和匹兹堡大学教授职位，并在加利福尼亚圣迭哥国际大学教授意义辽法。弗兰克尔共出版了39部作品，并被翻译成34种语言。他的作品《活出生命的意义》”美国最有影响力的十大图书“之一。

Viktor Frankl sounds something like a prophet in the post-modern age, and I do personally deem this book as a Bible of my life. If this book was required to be studied in every educational institutions across the world, there would be no need for religion, political ideology or psychiatry.

评分中英文混着看的，大师写的很平淡，可能这种经历之后再回忆时候就好像平淡中的一场噩梦。 我之前几年想过很久关于人遭受巨大不幸之后自我修复的事情，一直没想明白，之前听Tal的课，只是发现他也把人的自我修复能力确定为人生是否幸福的一个重要因素，但其实也并没有给出“如何”这个答案，大师很具体的给了一些案例。 以后有机会买本原版书，时时拿出来翻。
评分这本书教会了一种自欺欺人的获得短暂幸福的方式：不要把一切都当作理所当人，从脚下的土地到头上的星空。
