Many contemporary political thinkers are gripped by the belief that their task is to develop an ideal theory of rights or justice for guiding and judging political actions. But in "Philosophy and Real Politics", Raymond Geuss argues that philosophers should first try to understand why real political actors behave as they actually do. How not to retrieve into extreme historicism and nihilism if one is to criticize the pretentiousness of "ideal theory"? Guess' critique of ideal theory is deeply disturbing as it seems to have forsaken the attempt to seek true understanding of the good entirely, rendering political theory an amoral enterprise subservient to power & history.

结尾高潮：Power, Power, Power！强调权力分配、优先选择、时机把握和合法性构建，认为脱离政治现实、语境和情境的政治分析只有作为意识形态的分析意义，本身离表达政治社会实质相去甚远；延续之前在《政治中的历史与幻觉》的路子，破除对权利、公平、平等的成见；敲打诺齐克只是为了爆锤罗尔斯做准备。所谓的“现实感”，大概就是这个意思？
