classics的英译多有点絮絮叨叨。这版简洁有力，令人耳目一新。重看朱诺vs维纳斯，有种维吉尔是宫斗大手的感觉……

埃涅阿斯有不少出色的译本，但在诗歌的品质上，Sarah Ruden有超越前人的表现。她最大的特点是用词简洁犀利，以至于常在压缩凝聚中制造跳掷腾跃的效果，充满了动力感，特别适合描写战争的史诗场景，读起来像看诸神和英雄自己出演的电影。为什么现在的3D技术那么适合拍史诗式的电影？读了她的书，我想也许因为史诗本身就内嵌了很多人类对空间和运动的基本想象。Sarah Ruden 给她的翻译写的序言，简短得让人惊讶，低调却笔有藏锋，举几个具体例子就显示出她的诗人素质。

这版的翻译和语言非常好。以【上半部像奥德赛下半部像伊利亚特】的角度来说我大概还是比较喜欢奥德赛式的故事吧。比起荷马史诗多了很多儿女情长的元素，某种程度上来说应证了我眼里古希腊人和古罗马人最大的区别之一。
