尽管是一部可读性很强非常精彩的非虚构作品，可还是拖拖拉拉地读了八百年！照作者原话说在某种意义上，这本书是关于 the sexual revolution of the 1960s and 1970s; the men and women who personified that revolution。美国人总是想要在两方面得到平衡，一方面是基督教义，一方面是个人自由。作为读者，令我羡慕感慨的是美国censorship 的变迁，它随着时代理念的变迁而调整，无不透露着相对的民主，看到律师和出版人在法庭上和法官据理力争的章节就非常爽，自下而上的变革！它不是冥顽不灵的以某个权威的虚伪做作的想法一成不变！盖伊·特立斯对他的调研对象一视同仁并且有能力取得被调研对象的信任。很厉害的非虚构作家。

本以为这种涉及性方面内容的书会删节所以找了英文版看，看完觉得可能删节的可能是其他内容。一方面很感慨很多权力并不是天上掉下来的，另一方面更感慨至少也需要一个体系去保证人们有这样的机会和场所去争取。还有一个感慨的地方就是人性就是人性，不管自认为怎么超脱还是有很多东西不太容易克服，比如占有欲。
