具體描述

本書是國際著名語音學大師Peter Ladefoged教授撰寫的語音學入門教材，重點介紹發音語音學，同時也著重介紹瞭如何在探討發音的過程中入聲學語音學和感知語音學方麵的考察。本書自1975年初版麵世以來，已曆經4個版次的修訂，成為使用最廣、影響最大的語音學基礎教材之一，此次齣版的即為2006年最新修訂版。書中的講解力求簡明扼要、直截瞭當，非常適閤初學者學習。

本書配有一張多媒體光盤，裏麵有使用本書所需的各種圖錶、錄音、錄像以及國際音標錶中所有符號的發音。光盤裏還包括本書的姊妹篇Vowelsand Consonants一書的光盤內容，可供使用時參考。
