一部短小精悍的《存在与时间》解读，比较适合同原著一起阅读。本书的最大优势是在解读中没有掺入过多私货，同时对英美学界海德格尔研究的一些弊病（例如概念的现成化、此在的过分主体化）有所察觉和批评。考虑到英语和德语的差异，作者特意指出Being并不能真切地翻译Sein，因为后者作为名词却兼有to be的开放性意味。在章节安排上，本书基本上是按照《存在与时间》原本的思路层层梳理，和原著有非常好的对应关系，在章节的转换处则特意予以更多的过渡性论证，非常有助于读者将《存在与时间》作为一个整体去把握。本书的不足在于对一些非常难懂的章节没有解释或一笔带过，这种做法虽然比不懂装懂来得诚实，却造成了一种全书一气呵成的幻象，而事实上，也许正是理论深层的困难导致了海德格尔在行文中的含糊和矛盾，将这些摆出来似乎更明智。
